Day 2 Tokyo: On the way to Ikebukuro Station

We woke up early in the morning to go to the Tokyo underground subway station. Felt the momentum of office workers marching out of the train station.  They are all well dressed, and organised. Impressed.

From Day1_2Tokyo
可惜的是我們酒店沒有煮食餐具,要不就一早買它們回去了!!We arrived Tsukuji market, one of the largest seafood market in Tokyo.
They sell a lot of fresh seafood with high quality, and we were impress by their hygiene,
No bad odor and wet floors.  Apart from seafood, the market also sell different types of salted veges and meat.  The quality of the beef in Tsukiji is really good, pity we didin't have a stove back in the hotel, otherwise we would have bought them home.

From Day1_2Tokyo
The japanese are very innovative in terms of...almost everything! This is a tofu, wrapped in ballons.  Interesting shape, and I bet kids would love the sphere looking food.

From Day1_2Tokyo
It's a pity that we didn't eat more of these in Japan!!  This is the kansai don we ordered for lunch.  But since my mum and her friends are rather small eaters, we shared this for 4 person -_-  (when I can eat one by myself!!) and we ordered a handmade seafood udon as well.  The seafood is soooo fresh and every ingredient in the dish taste amazing!!

From Day1_2Tokyo
One of the ramen stores in Tsukuji market. Highlighting the lack of space issue in Tokyo, haha....but the service of the shopkeep are excellent. Again, the japanese impressed me with the quality of every ingredient in the dishes.

From Day1_2Tokyo
Another snap shot of the crowd in the seafood market. If you can't get a seat, feel free to stand and eat!!

From Day1_2Tokyo
We left Tsukuji market after lunch. On our way to Ginza we come across a temple and decided to take a quick look inside. There were a few office workers inside the temple for a quick nap, or just to relax themselves during their short lunch break.

From Day1_2Tokyo
Our afternoon tea at Ginza area.  The fruit tart is very nicely done. Both presentation wise and taste.

From Day1_2Tokyo: Muji in Tokyo
Whether or not you are a MUJI fan you will love this store.  They have a wide selection of just about everything, from food to clothes and home appliances.

From Day1_2Tokyo: Japanese textile store
I'm a super big fan or japanese textiles.  They are elegant and cute.  Just couldn't get enough of them during the trip in Japan and I had to pop into every single japanese tradition textile stores that I came across.

From Day1_2Tokyo: Food stores underneath the bridge of Tokyo
From Day1_2Tokyo: Another food hunt under the bridge
One of my mum's friend recommanded to try the restaurants underneath the bridge of some train station in Tokyo city.

From Day1_2Tokyo: Our dinner at one of the restaurant
Meat kebabs in japanese style. I love their beer and sake too!!!

From Day1_2Tokyo: A line of dinner wine place in Tokyo
Interestingly, we didn't see much woman in these stores. Mostly male.

From Day1_2Tokyo: Stores inside the underground subway train station
We love the underground subway train stations in Japan and could never get bored of it!  The average working hours in japan is almost 12 (i.e. the rush hour is like from 6 - 9 pm! Erina works till 10:30pm everday, and her husband, 11 pm......).  So people would go to these stores to grab a quick dinner after work.

From Day1_2Tokyo: My giant takoyaki
因為真的會很飽!!I'm always in for a quick snack. The smell of takoyaki attracted me and I've bought a giant takoyaki.  They are the size of my palm! I had to share this with  mum coz it was so big!!!

From Day1_2Tokyo: Strawberry from supermarket
The fruit of the day: Strawberry!!!  One of the best strawberry I've tasted ever! (but Erina said the strawberry farm from France are even better, wow!) They are so sweet and red and each of them is in perfect shape.
